Second Workshop on “Institutional Structures between Kosovo and EU in the framework of Stabilisation and Association Agreement”

March 7, 2016

From 4 – 6 March 2016, Group for Legal and Political Studies (GLPS) hosted the second workshop of the European Integration School, on the topic: “Institutional Structures between Kosovo and EU in the framework of Stabilisation and Association Agreement”. This workshop served as a continuation of the first one hosted in November 2015, and the main purpose was to enhance the knowledge of senior journalists, media editors, MPs and senior policymakers in regards to the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) and its importance for Kosovo. The workshop was specifically dedicated to the functioning of SAA-related institutional structures between Kosovo and EU, their design and lessons that need be followed to utilize them most effectively. At present there is no solid debate or process in Kosovo contributing to deepen the knowledge of core SAA chapters, including means to address conditionality deriving there from more productively and responsibly. This workshop therefore aimed to fill that gap. Participants had the opportunity to discuss the methods and criteria upon which the SAA-institutional communication between Kosovo and EU will be developed, as well as the long-term implementation of the SAA, from a comparative perspective in relation to the other countries in the region. Furthermore, they had the chance to closely share their ideas with speakers to better understand the challenges that Kosovo will face in the stabilization and association process.

This workshop is part of the project “Strengthening the discourse on knowledge in the field of the Stabilisation and Association Process between Kosovo and EU through a mini school on European Integration”, supported by Kosovo Foundation for Open Society (KFOS) and implemented by GLPS.
