GLPS Released its Policy Analysis on SAA Process in a Press Conference this Saturday

March 18, 2013

On 16 March 2013, in a Press Conference, Group for Legal and Political Studies released its Policy Analysis entitled: ‘Readying Kosovo for SAA Negotiations: A blueprint of achievements, slow reforms and the path ahead’. The Policy Analysis examines the state of the four preconditions of the Feasibility Study for Kosovo, aiming to conclude whether Kosovo stands ready for the Commission to propose the acquisition of mandate to start negotiations for an SAA between Kosovo and the EU. The Analysis provides the core blueprints of progress, missing reforms and the institutional path towards the negotiation of the SAA, including an assessment of both short-term and long-term reform priorities. The Analysis strongly recommends the EU Commission to propose to the Council the acquisition of mandate to start the negotiation of an SAA with Kosovo, keeping the criticism bold on the responsibility of the Government of Kosovo to strengthen the reforms in public administration, judicial sector and rule-of-law at-large.
