In recent decades, party organization and party behaviour have become one of the most important topics among European countries. Legislation and standards regarding the funding of political parties are of crucial importance for the well-functioning of democratization. In many transitional democratic countries the financing of political parties has fallen victim to allegations of corruption and fraud. In Kosovo, political party financing has become a major concern and where proper reforms and mechanisms are needed to ensure the legitimacy and stability of the political system.For the political parties to engage and perform their core political activities, adequate funding is essential. In addition, funding is necessary for political parties to perform their democratic roles efficiently as well as for their existence and well-functioning. However, since political subjects hold the power of making important decision, which affects the social and economic life, their funding should reflect the most transparent and free of suspicion process.This said, historically, the attention of political parties towards funds has influenced the duty to represent the constituents’ interests properly.
