November 3, 2017

On October 3, Group for Legal and Political Studies (GLPS), in cooperation with the Prishtina Institute for Political Studies (PIPS) held a Roundtable Discussion on the topic: “European Integration Process in Kosovo: Where do we stand?”, held in Prishtina. The aim of this event was to discuss the Kosovo citizens’ perception on European Integration and the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA). At the beginning of the event, GLPS presented a Policy Analysis entitled “Kosovo, European Integration and the Stabilisation Association Agreement: An Analysis of citizens’ perception”. This report provides a comparative analysis of various surveys, from 2010 to 2016, which assessed citizens’ perception towards Kosovo’s European Integration and the Stabilisation and Association Agreement. Furthermore, the study aims to report any changes of public perception over the last years and identify any possible trend that has recently developed. In addition to the report findings, the panelists focused on the importance of implementing the key reforms necessary for Kosovo’s path towards EU integration. Also, they emphasized the need for a constructive and inclusive inter-institutional cooperation in order to implement the obligations that the SAA entails. To conclude, they agreed that Kosovo should act with a dynamic pace and seek for a political consensus in order to deliver the necessary reforms that would contribute to Kosovo’s path towards the European Union. The event was attended by institutional representatives, relevant ministries, civil society representatives, filed experts and media.
