GLPS held a workshop focusing on the KJC’s Public Communication Strategy: Efficiency of courts in informing and accessing citizens of Kosovo

On 28th of September 2017, Group for Legal and Political Studies (GLPS) organized and facilitated a one-day workshop on the topic of “Kosovo Judicial Council’s Public Communication Strategy: Efficiency of courts in informing and accessing citizens of the Republic of Kosovo” in Prishtina, Kosovo. This event was organized as part of the project “Strengthening the rule-of-law capacity and performance via informed policy solutions and practical advocating strategies”, funded by the Democratic Society Promotion (DSP) and managed by Kosovo Civil Society Foundation (KFCS). The workshop gathered representatives from the Kosovo Judicial Council, Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, Basic Courts and members of Civil Society. The purpose of the workshop was to discuss the performance of the courts in communication with the public and the assessment of the fulfillment of the objectives set out in the Kosovo Judicial Council’s Communication Strategy 2014-2019. This workshop served as a discussion platform for reviewing current communication strategy, identifying shortcomings and suggesting recommendations for an ever improving performance in the communication with stakeholders and citizens. The yielded outcome from the discussion during this workshop will be presented to the Kosovo Judicial Council in a list of principles for the preliminary drafting of the new communication strategy. This project is financed by the project/program Democratic Society Promotion (DSP) – financed by the Swiss Cooperation Office in Kosovo (SCO-K) and managed by the Kosovo Civil Society Foundation (KCSF).
